Sfoglina Downtown

I had a taste for carbonara, so I invited my friends to Sfoglina Downtown! We had a WONDERFUL time. We split a bottle of Zinfandel, which was great. We loved our appetizer (we added the crushed tomatoes and prosciutto). I got my carbonara! My friend couldn't decide between two entrées, so the waiter (Oscar) asked if he could surprise her and brought a little of each entrée out in two separate bowls! So thoughtful. All of our desserts were delicious. My friend's gluten allergy was totally accommodated. Best gluten free pasta that she has ever had! We will definitely be going back!

First time caller! Stopped in to place a carry-out order and ended up grabbing a seat at the bar during happy hour. The vibe surprised me—instead of the usual Italian ambiance, there was a full doo-wop playlist rolling in the background. Unexpected combo, but honestly… who doesn’t love a curveball? Happy hour prices were generous, so I ordered an Old Fashioned and the deviled eggs. The eggs were solid with a clean presentation. The Old Fashioned was good too, though I would’ve preferred a single solid ice cube—maybe that’s just not part of the happy hour pour 🤷🏾‍♂️. Staff was friendly and attentive, and my food was ready in about 25–30 minutes. I ordered the pork belly and the shrimp scampi. We went to Sfoglina Downtown for Valentine’s Day dinner, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. Service was good, though a little inconsistent and rushed at times, but because it was Valentine’s Day, we didn’t really factor that into our overall impression. To start, we ordered the Large Mozzarella di Bufala from the Grand Mozzarella Bar, labeled “Must Try!” It was fresh, creamy, and tasty. We enjoyed it, but at $24 for a ball of mozzarella, I’d probably try one of the antipasti next time for a bit more variety and value. For entrées, we went with the Radiatore Cacio e Pepe and the Bucatini Carbonara. Both were excellent and easy choices given that the pasta is handmade in-house. Super sweet staff!! We got to celebrate one of my co-workers for her baby shower and the staff were so sweet. They have delicious bread with this herbaceous butter. 🧈 I got the spicy vodka sauce dish with grilled chicken on the side, absolutely delicious!! They also wrap up your leftovers in a cute little bag and box! If this is up your alley they also have an assortment of cheeses to share around the table. Would definitely return to this place!

María made our experience beyond fabulous, but our dinner of linguine allá vongole and the rigatoni with Sunday sauce needed no help! An excellent waitress, Maria helped guide us to a Ceasar salad unlike any other! The dressing was truly spectacular! The warm spiced apple butter cake was enough to feed a family but so delicious I barely wanted to share it with hubby! Definitely worthy of a visit and one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in a long time - and I’ve been to many great ones!!
