Shanti

We had a wonderful time at Shanti for dinner. We went all out with the naan basket (yum), shrimp tandoori (perfectly done and spiced), saag paneer (always a solid veg dish to offer), lamb bhuna (loved the laal Mirch (red chili powder) and daal makhani (classic). The ambience was warm and service super kind and thoughtful. Thank you 🙏

The mango lassi tasted freshly made. The garlic naan was to die for. The mixed vegetable pakora was perfectly fried. The lamb in the lamb saag was so good I had to ask where they bought the meat from. Really the only dish that was lack luster was the mulagawtani (lentil) soup which just lacked some flavor. The service was prompt and friendly. I had never been here before but will definitely be back many times. Oh also they give a reusable bag for leftovers and it’s a woman-owned business!

After a long and tiring day around Boston and the surrounding area I was rejuvenated by the food, service, and hospitality of this establishment. I ordered lamb vindaloo with a mango lassi, both of which i cannot recommend enough. This easily makes the list of one of my new favorite restaurants and I cant wait to go back!!

I’m not sure if there has been a change of management or cooks in the past couple of years but there has been a change. This is the fourth time my order was not what I ordered and not what was expected. The dish recipe didn’t have the ingredients that it used to and the drinks are no longer made in house. At least this last order was edible as the previous one were absolutely unpalatable. If you want authentic Indian food that doesn’t cut corners, go elsewhere. It’s an expensive disappointment

2.5 stars. For all the hype around this place in terms of Indian food in Boston, was rather underwhelmed. Ordered Rogan Josh with medium spice but it tasted like it had no spice. Lamb was dry and somewhat tough. Came with a pint of rice, no issues with that. Cheese naan was decently sized, but more burnt than is ideal.
