Shark's Cove is a fantastic spot for snorkeling. Great alternative to Hanama Bay. Not as "touristy" and very easy to get going. Parking can be an issue. Best to come here early or a week day. The left side area is great for kids, easy access and plenty of fish to see. The right side area (the cove) is fantastic, but is deep and requires traversing some rocky terrain to get to. It is worth it as I was able to observe turtles feeding off the coral, schools of various fish, and the beautiful rock formations on the floor. It is very deep, but clear. You should be a good swimmer and comfortable in the water to be in this area as there are no life guards. Make sure you hit Ted's Bakery down the street for some great local eats after you work up that appetite from snorkeling all morning

Great snorkeling area. Very nice beach.

Used the restroom late at night and watched all the lifeguards move their equipment into the storage building.

Get there early, and you can get a good parking spot. The tide pools are amazing with lots if marine life like schooling fish, sea cucumbers, urchins, crabs, and reef fish. Great for the keiki (children).

Men's bathroom was filthy and cramped and had broken toilets. "Showers" are outdoor water faucets so expect them to be freezing. But it is right next to the beach so it's a great place to wash off sand before you go shopping across the street.
