Shattuck Library

I was passing through on a cross country drive when I decided I'd check out the library rather than wait for a train to pass. I'm so glad I did. The town of Shattuck has just over 1200 residents, but they have a library and a library director they can be proud of. Bryan Dyer , the director, greeted me as soon as I walked in and showed me everything I was interested in. I purchased two books from their ongoing book sale. It made me happy to see that this town cares enough about education and literacy to build such an impressive library and hire such a helpful staff and director. Kudos.

My absolute favorite library (and I’ve been to a lot.) Everyone that works here is so friendly and kind. Bryan, the librarian has created a welcoming environment for all people, especially kids. My kids enjoy listening to him read the Hobbit on Tuesdays. On Wednesdays, they love going to Lego club after school. I love seeing all of the creative designs the kids come up with. On Thursdays, my two year old likes to get to the library when they open and play in the toddler area before listening to Bryan or Cheyenne read and sing songs. On Fridays, my oldest likes meeting up with other homeschoolers at the homeschool club Bryan started when he learned there were quite a few homeschoolers in the area without a place to meet.

It's the most beautiful library in Northwest Oklahoma.

They are absolutely amazing! always open to ideas!! willing to help in many ways! I love how involved they are with the kids and how they get them becoming so creative!

Our family always enjoys trips to the Shattuck Public Library!
