SHAWARMA XPRESS (FIU)

This spot is fire. Good fresh food , good prices & good vibe at the location. I don’t even live in this area & come over here for the Shawarma. it’s GOOOD !

I strongly advise against dining there. The moment open the container I was disheartened to discover unsightly patches of mold creeping along the sides.the shawarma was utterly unappetizing, lacking flavor and freshness.

I'm fine with eating at a "hole in the wall" but the food needs to make up for it. This location across from FIU was a disappointment. Grape leaves were dry and rice hard - it's only flavor came from the lemon. Kibbe was flavorless and dry as well. The babaganoush was salty. Finally the only flavor in my chicken swarma was the sauce I poured on it. I was looking forward to a tasty Middle-Eastern meal. This was not it.

Looking for a quick bite to eat as I was wandering through the area, I saw this place and had a sudden hankering for Middle Eastern food. I went for the chicken bowl, and it was excellent value for money! Loads of chicken, fresh salad, and delicious hummus. I really couldn’t go wrong and absolutely enjoyed the meal. Despite a complete lack of atmosphere inside, and the fact that I was the only customer in sight, I would definitely return!

The flavor of the shawarma is good and the prices are very reasonable. My go to is always the lunch special! However, they advertise that they are open until 12 but are always out of meat by 11:30. Either the guy who works there doesn’t want to make it or they really did run out of meat. If it’s the latter, I would recommend he purchase more inventory.
