I’ve eaten here twice. The food is good. I wish it was spicier because Jerk is spicy but it’s still good. Yesterday my husband ordered and the way they cut the chicken or cooked the chicken, there were bone shards everywhere and I couldn’t eat it. It was like a knife and many pieces were small. That’s pretty dangerous because that could cut me internally. This is so dangerous! I personally wouldn’t order chicken again unless this was fixed. I wasn’t able to enjoy the meal because of that. Edit: I am aware that chicken has bones. I eat all kinds of cuisine and that is not the issue. The issue is that there were so many tiny pieces of bone shards that were so sharp could pierce my tongue or worse if I swallowed them. They were embedded into the rice and some so small it was tricky to spot.
I had an amazing experience at Shelly’s Island Cuisine! From the moment I walked up, I was greeted with warm hospitality and the incredible aroma of real Jamaican cooking. The jerk chicken was absolutely spot-on—smoky, spicy, and tender. I also tried the oxtail and rice & peas, and they were rich, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. You can tell everything is made with love and tradition. Portions were generous, the prices were fair, and the service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere made me feel like I was right in the heart of the Caribbean. If you’re looking for authentic Jamaican cuisine that hits all the right notes, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!
