Shelter Harbor Inn's Restaurant

Loved enjoying cocktails prepared by Tara in front of the wood burning fireplace to start the evening. The vibe in the dining room is warm and inviting. Our waiter Taylor was attentive and well informed. His timing was perfect and not intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed the twist on the scallops and the hearty short rib. The medley of flavors was delightful in both dishes!

I really want to focus my review on the food. I was told by the waitress that the call Mary was only “very lightly breaded”- when it came to the table it was crusted in very thick breading. There was supposed to be roasted garlic in the preparation (as per the menu’s description) The heavily breaded calamari had jarred banana peppers thrown on top. It was mostly all tentacles, heavily encrusted in tasteless heavy breading. It was not at all what I was expecting; and wished when I’d asked our waitress; she’d been truthful with me. Onto the shrimp and grits. The peppers were so crudely chopped- it looked like they were chopped my a five year old with a butte knife. Absolutely no care was taken- and it just came across as someone very unskilled cooking in the kitchen. It’s pretty unbelievable

My boyfriend and I had the most delightful experience at Farmhouse Kitchen + Bar. While we were not hotel guests, Farmhouse had such rave reviews that we knew we had to give it a go. The vibe, ambiance, eclectic pieces, multi-fireplaces, red leather sofas and various seating nooks were both cozy and swanky and so tastefully and thoughtfully executed. Our waitress Kathleen was sweet, bubbly, knowledgeable about all menu items, attentive, professional and made us feel so welcomed. We highly recommend the rice dusted cauliflower (it had a nice subtle kick), the buffalo firecracker wontons were savory, sweet and spicy. The beef short ribs were a 10/10 and the pumpkin gnocchi was unique. I must say the gentleman that was running the show was friendly, accommodating and had a great sense of hum

Farmhouse Kitchen + Bar is a sensational experience! The vibe is fine dining meets cozy New England elegance. The chef thoughtfully adds new seasonal items to the menu. The steamed mussels + crispy cauliflower were delightful. Kathleen, our waitress was the best ever! She was so welcoming, attentive, endearing, & knowledgeable of every dish on the menu or drink on the cocktail list. Please note, my family & I were not hotel guests, yet all of the staff provided 5 star service and were beyond courteous. The food is amazing but the staff are salt of the earth people which making dining out so much more enjoyable!

We had dinner here Friday night. I had a hot Lobster roll which was amazing! My boyfriend tried to the Cioppino Verdi which he loved. The service was 10/10 and the atmosphere was very cozy. Perfect date night!
