We went to Shinpi to celebrate an anniversary. Eric, the sushi chef, was very knowledgeable and fun to talk to throughout our dinner. We chose the 15 course menu, although the 15 course menu plus up to 20 pieces of uni was a tempting option. Some of our favorites included the oyster with uni and roe, the gold dusted Wagyu, king salmon, and Wagyu with uni. The staff recommended a bottle of sake to accompany our meal that was perfect according to our preferences. They celebrated our anniversary with a dessert and a special nostalgic song. I’ll save the song title as a surprise for anyone going in to celebrate a special occasion. We look forward to dining here again in the near future.
Magical experience near 33rd street/K town. I picked 18 course Omakase and ordered couple beers and a bottle of sake. Love the vibe. Chef works on the magic to present not-so-traditional items. The Wagyu steak was my personal favorite - melted in my mouth with slight graceful smoky flavor. The creative seafood items were novel, including an appetizer of oyster plus uni plus caviar plus fish roe, which was an umami bomb. Only drawback was nigiri items were average, but considering the price, they were still reasonably good. Eric was fun to talk to. Great vibes.
Shinpi is my favorite sushi experience. It feels like a party, but the small counter makes it intimate and personal at the same time. Chef Eric is the best and you can tell he really cares. The fish comes straight from Japan and it’s insanely fresh. The whole night is just fun.
Came here for dinner and we had a great time! The interior of the omakase is a bit more intimate, and the chefs here are very friendly and fun to talk to, making for a warm and comfortable dining experience. I got their 18 course omakase and thought that it was great. I really enjoyed their first couple of courses and appreciated how they had a lot of more "appetizer-like" and unique courses, rather than just nigiri. I did think their rice ratio was a bit much, so I had to ask them to decrease it but it was still good! Good fish quality and innovative dishes. I enjoyed this~
This was an amazing experience. Everything was delicious and well thought out. The staff is very attentive and kind. Small and intimate setting for a nice date night
