Shipley Do-Nuts

Never seen a chocolate donut look like this… it’s hard and stale. The kolache’s are gross and have literal caned jalapeños in them… literal waste of my 12$.

We ordered 3 dozen different style of donuts from here to be delivered to a Hilton Hotel we were going to stay at. They use a 3rd party delivery service. The person delivering left the donuts at the back door instead of going in the front door, and dropping off at the front desk. It was 71 degrees that day. By the time the staff noticed they were there it was too late. Most of the frosting had melted off the donuts. What a major bummer. By the time we checked in at 330pm Shipley's was closed as they closed at noon. So we couldn't even call to let them know what happened. They hopefully will no longer use the idiot who made a delivery for them to the back door of a hotel. Who delivers to the back door of any hotel? I blame the delivery company for this happening.

The last 3 times we've been here, months apart, the donuts have not been fresh. Also, they were about half the thickness that they should've been and super dense and not fluffy. This is completely unacceptable. As busy as you guys are, there is no excuse to serve old donuts at 8am. Do better.

I cannot remember a worse experience at a Shipley. Sadly the donuts tasted like day old donuts, the cherry iced did not look or taste like a cherry iced donut (even though after seeing what looked like a strawberry iced it was confirmed to be a cherry iced). We have never seen a cake donut that looked like this, and it did not taste like the Shipley standard we are used to either. The take away bags were not franchise standard either. This store should be evaluated to ensure it is keeping franchise standards and quality, it seems they are trying to cut corners at every opportunity and sacrificing quality. My husband actually said “they give Shipley’s a bad name. @shipelydonuts should investigate…
