Showmars Gastonia - The Shops @ Franklin Square

If you’re looking for the best fish sandwich in Gastonia, North Carolina, you need to try the World Famous Fish Sandwich at Showmars. I recently visited Showmars in Gastonia and was seriously impressed. The hand-battered Pollock was cooked perfectly — crispy on the outside and flaky, tender, and fresh on the inside. You can tell it’s made fresh to order. The tartar sauce was creamy and balanced, complementing the fish without overpowering it. The bun was soft and fresh, and the portion size was generous. The restaurant was clean and welcoming, and the staff was friendly and efficient. Overall, this was one of the most delicious fish sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. Couldn't tell if this location was even open when we walked up. No "Open" sign in the door. It was unlocked so we went in. Felt like a dungeon inside. Minimal lighting. Every window blind pulled down. I tried to raise the blinds to get light by our booth but it was locked. We ordered burgers. They gave us pita burgers. Never asked what kind of bread we wanted. We were with our kids and kids are picky about food... Why default to a pita over a normal bun? No ketchup at the table. No silverware. We asked for some, they brought one fork and one knife for 4 people. Just a weird overall experience there. One of the worse showmars experiences I've had.

Just picked up a grilled chicken salad! It was exceptional! I think its the best salad around. Honestly, this was one of the best salads I've had in a long time! Parking was a bit tight. Restaurant was clean. Service was prompt. Food was delicious! I have a couple of favorite menu items. Ingredients were remarkably fresh. That freshness was what makes this restaurant such a good choice. Employees were respectful and courteous. Thanks!

Original ShowMars owners would be appalled, if not livid... won't be surprised if they're out of business before the end of this year!

My experience is somewhat confusing. The kids that work up in the establishment are pretty gross . I’ve observed picking nose , wiping nose on apron , missing items from my food order , coughing and sneezing constantly. The bathroom continually smells like rot . I love the flounder but the presenters make it hard for the food to be enjoyable. If they would start cracking down on these employees I believe this place could be great .
