Been to alot of Omakases and this place definitely is in my top 5! Fish quality was amazing. Great selection of sake. Service was also excellent. Would definitely come back to Shoyo. The restaurant is very intimate and they pay attention to each patron.

I’d like to give it more stars. No kidding, hands down our best dining experience. And we’ve eaten in some kick ass places. This was not a dinner. This was an experience. The recommendations for the sake, the education by the chef and the flavours of the food. Daaang!!!! This was deep. Loved it.

Had an AMAZING birthday celebration at Shoyo. The ambiance was on point, the service was A++++ and the food was melt in your mouth delicious! Everything was so fresh and Chef Jimmy was exceptional at his craftsmanship. Along with his crew, they displayed great attentiveness and hospitality towards the guests. Would love to experience this again!

I had high expectations for Shoyo given its reputation, but the experience ultimately felt mixed. The biggest issue was the atmosphere created by the omakase chef. Early in the meal, I briefly used ChatGPT to identify some of the fish because the menu wasn’t explained in English equivalents beforehand. Instead of clarifying the pieces, the chef made two condescending remarks, including, “Why use AI when you have a chef here.” It came across as snarky rather than welcoming. Omakase is supposed to be educational and interactive, and if the intent is to discourage outside references, then proactively explaining each course would help avoid that situation. The tone made the rest of the dinner feel awkward for both me and my wife. Food-wise, the courses were technically fine but not memorable

Shoyo is a place that should be enjoyed by anyone who loves a great atmosphere, amazing food, unique combinations of flavors, and a welcoming staff. Have known Chef Jimmy for many years now and it was awesome to experience what he's built! We will be back!
