Good stopover! I have eaten here twice; both times I sat at the bar and service was quick and friendly. Both times I had chicken soup and I would compare it to homemade. I’ve also tried their milkshakes, Yum Yum! This time my husband had a BLT which is not listed on the menu but they kindly made it… sandwich and french fries were great!! Thank you Silver Diner for an option other than fast food at an airport!!
I will say, for an airport diner this made you feel comfortable. Our server was so sweet and curious, even as weary travelers we felt happy. The food was. I guess what you would expect from an airport diner...decent. the portions where a good size. Give it a try, overall it was satisfying.
The best part is that it feels like you've been transported completely outside the airport. The food was better than many other airport options but not remarkable. I don't know if they were understaffed, but it took 15 min after being seated before anyone stopped by the table and then another 10 to get the beers we ordered. I expected more hustle in an airport environment.
I visit the Silver Diner every time I’m at the airport flying home through Baltimore. The food is always great, and I order the Chicken Fried Chicken every single time I don’t care what time it is. Honestly, it might be the best fried chicken I’ve ever had.
Cut fruit cup & coffee were good. "Just eggs benedict" : layers consisting of sourdough bread, pesto, tomato slice, spinich, fake bacon, and what seemed a mixture of eggs and hollandaise sauce was not to my liking. Overall, it tasted much too salty: mostly the hollandaise sauce, I presume. Not sure about the pesto. The sweet tomato and spinach were fine. The bread at the bottom of stack was soggy. Perhaps if it had been toasted it wouldn't have been so soggy. Restaurant less than half full when i ate, around noon. Service was amazingly slow. Fortunately, I was in no rush. When prompted for a tip, i was surprised that the lowest suggested percentage was 20%. To give my typical 18% or less i needed to enter manually.
