What a GEM! Beautiful and historic Inn at Charlottesville. Amazing host, one-of-a-kind experience. Comfy beds, gracious host, delicious breakfast provided. The Revolutionary war-era building was an adventure in itself! We will definitely be returning to explore more of the unique rooms here!

This is a great little restaurant and pub a bit off the beaten path I don't think many people at all know about. I've been there 3 times so far, and every time has seen wonderful service, an excellent menu, and food meant to savor. I have never spent the night there as I live around the corner, but Iggy's pub gets my business for dessert alone! I would compare it to C&O down in downtown Charlottesville as far as quality food and environment go, but without the crowd or hassle of parking. If you are looking for a nice evening out with some excellent food and a glass of wine, I can't recommend the Silver Thatch Inn more.

If you're looking for a beautiful, comfortable, immaculately kept B&B in the Charlottesville area, I highly recommend the Silver Thatch Inn. Very affordable, beautifully maintained, run by the delightfully friendly couple Jim and Terri. They make you feel like you're truly guests in their home. The breakfasts? Just make sure you allow plenty of time, because they are generous and taste amazing. One morning it was a cheese & tomato omelette with home fries, fresh-baked biscuits with home made strawberry jam, homemade sausage, and a cup of fresh fruit. The next morning more sausage, blueberry buttermilk pancakes (really light and fluffy like I've never been able to make). Oh....and did I mention they make FABULOUSLY STRONG COFFEE!?!?!? Guaranteed Magnificent Experience! Sadly, their superb restaurant is closed, but stay the night, and you will not be disappointed come breakfast time: homemade sausage or bacon plus the whim of the pastry chef will start your day off right. Add to that the warm hospitality of the innkeepers & there is nothing finer.

The Silver Thatch Inn is an adorable place with an even more amazing owner. Terri makes the whole thing delightful!
