I was really impressed with the Shacks Smash burger, double patty with great flavor, best burger I've had in a while. Fries were good, but small portion for $4.
I got the Shack’s Smash which was surprisingly good. Meat was juicy, the bun was cold and a little too bready but I would definitely get the burger again. Got the fries and sweet potato fries as well, they were okay. The sauces which seems like their signature was okay as well. I think I’m fine using ketchup for the fries if I choose to get fries again. Overall good experience and good addition to dairy market.
Do NOT order from this place! They’re over expensive for the low quality you get, they’ll get your order wrong every time, there are much better options that are worth your money. Firstly, a basic cheese burger and fries is $14 before tax. You get less fries than you would from a company like five guys for the same price, and for the cost of just fries you could get more and better quality from literally any fast food chain let alone a more premium sit down option. The fries? Thin. Not fluffy. Not very crispy. The texture of chewing cardboard. How is it I can get better quality from microwaving store bought frozen fries? The burger? The patty was dry. The cheese has basically no flavor. The bun almost has the texture of stale bread. You get Mayo and ketchup as topping options and you get
Burger is quite good for the price. Surprised by the quality - I personally enjoyed the burger more than comparable places around town like Citizen Burger and 5 guys.
The chicken tenders were delicious. Nice light fried batter soft and juicy. Made to order. The fries are by far the best I’ve had in Charlottesville. Thin, freshly cooked and done perfectly. Will definitely be back!
