Smallcakes: A Cupcakery and Creamery of Elmhurst

I ordered cupcakes today for my child’s birthday, and unfortunately when we opened the box we found ants crawling all over the cupcakes. It was extremely disappointing and honestly very upsetting, especially considering it was for a special occasion. I understand things can happen, but food safety and cleanliness are critical in any food establishment. I hope the management takes this seriously and looks into their storage and sanitation practices to prevent this from happening to other customers in the future.

Went here to cupcakes as I in the area and frequently go to area 51 cupcakery they sell the same cupcakes so i thought this would be great. I purchased 4 cupcakes the same ones that I would purchase at area 51 cupcakery. Unfortunately, everytime I ate one of the cupcakes I was experiencing GI issues which is extremely uncommon for me and has never happened when I purchased from other similar locations. 1 '

Just stopped by in a whim and had an amazing cupcake served by Aiden! He greeted me upon arrival and was very knowledgeable about the flavors and options. He even went so far as to pull out some of the ones from the back that had holiday decorations. Really enjoyed my experience!

So the store/facility was not at all that impressive. It needs a touch up 100%. BUT the lady at the register was honestly awesome. Great personality. The flavor of the cupcakes however reside in the frosting only. The cake itself is not bad, but nothing to take home. Also when doing a gender reveal maybe put a little more frosting in the middle as some cupcakes had like barely any.

This is my go-to spot for gourmet cupcakes in the area. I love picking up a dozen with different flavors to share with my office staff, and they’re always a hit. One time I made the mistake of not bringing one home for my partner—and I’ve never made that mistake again! They hold up best when refrigerated or chilled, and while I have several favorites, the peanut butter cup, fudge, and classic chocolate are standouts.
