Smileys Bagels

I am not someone who writes negative reviews, and I usually do not take service complaints too seriously when I read them. This time I think it is worth paying attention. I stopped by Smiley’s today, grabbed a drink, and ordered a plain bagel. There were only two people in front of me, so I figured it would be quick. Instead, it turned into a really confusing experience. There is no clear line, no clear ordering spot, no pickup area, and everyone ends up huddled around the register trying to guess who is next. Even the employees seemed unsure. About five minutes into waiting, a guy walked in, ordered three plain bagels, cut through everyone, paid, and left before I even moved. Friendly staff and good sandwiches made to order. They have a nice sitting area if you want to eat on site. There’s also convenient parking right in front.

I live 3 blocks away. I ordered a salad and panini for lunch, see pictures. The salad was drowning in dressing and limp. The sandwich was soaking in mayo and even more limp then the salad. It took 1.5 hours to get to me. My wife ordered a garden salad and got a caesar salad, also drowning in dressing. She ordered a sandwich meal that is suppose to come with chips and a soda, neither of which arrived. When she called them up they yelled at her that it was a garden salad. They came and replaced the caesar with a garden salad, devoid of dressing. I guess its flood or famine when it comes to dressing. They have great tasting, hot, soft bagels!! I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel...Ahhh, let me tell you, I felt like I was biting into a piece of heaven. Yes, it may sound over the top, but when I'm here visiting Stateline Island, the first thing I want in the morning is exactly what I just told you. We don't get it that good upstate where I live!! This is the second time I went to smileys that I ordered a bagel with bacon and cream cheese and got the SMALLEST bit of cream cheese. This is so beyond cheap. Disappointed and won’t be coming back again.
