Sofia's Roadside Cantina

Cute little Tex-Mex restaurant. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you once it is ready. My husband and I ordered the chips and queso with chorizo. This was a good option, except the chips were not cooked long enough. They had an oil softness to them instead of being all the way crispy. That is a very minor thing that can easily be fixed. I ordered the birria tacos which were tasty and my husband ordered a torta. He said that since the meat was shredded it came off more as a pulled pork sandwich than a torta. He said it was good, but messy. We also ordered a side of the street corn. This was pretty tasty as well. However, one thing I wasn’t too impressed with was the service. I got the Birria Tacos - which came with two tacos, I ate one before I took the pic since I couldn’t wait 😉. These things were crispy, tender, and packed with flavor! Hands down the best I’ve had in South Huntsville. For the table we got chips and salsa and nopales. We also got a shrimp rice bowl, ceviche, and kids quesadilla. Everything was delicious and we can’t wait to come back to try some other options.

Very tasty and service was lovely! Great vegetarian choices too - I had the veggie tacos, which were delicious, and there are bowls and build-your-own options as well. This will definitely be on our lunch rotation now.

So excited to have a Mexican spot that focuses on fresh food! Great flavors, great atmosphere, friendly staff. We will be frequent guests!
