Somewhere In Time

The house is large with plenty of sleeping accommodations. The sheets were laundered and the beds comfortable. The website boasts a few accommodations that are misleading. The kitchen is hardly stocked. There are not enough pots or cooking items to accommodate a large crowd. The house is dirty. Many webs and a layer or dust all over the many curtains and fabric decorations. Ants all over. Laundry left in washer and dryer from cleaning people. So.. .to me this is like a very luxurious camping trip. I wouldn't say Tonite rent this home but expect old and come with plenty of gear. Except towels... plenty of towels here 😁

Bottom line: not worth the cost. First, the good parts: the house is huge with many nice features, like the billiard room, the comfy couches, the fire pit, and the front and back porches. It easily housed 6 adults and two children, and the pool, while very small, was a nice feature, along with the large pavilion. Now, the bad: the "private dock" on Lake George was extremely impractical, and maybe even unsafe. The path to reach the dock requires crossing Lake Shore Drive (which is a gamble in itself), then navigating an overgrown "path" that goes behind a motel. The dock itself is noticeabley shorter than the other docks, making it difficult for more than a canoe or rowboat to dock there. Plus the end of the dock was tilted and falling into the water. Anyone with mobility issues cannot use

Period flavor. Warm and cozy rooms (fall season). Mismash serving/kitchen and the gas range is not set up correctly (perhaps ng tuned burners on lp, yikes). Still a nice stay....

I had a great time here and remember it fondly. John was an amazing person and I will never forget the that special weekend. This place is beautiful.

It's just ok. Becoming run down around the edges. Lots of potential though and the caretakers were helpful and responsive when we had to call them.
