Sonic Drive-In

I've worked in restaurants and kitchens for 20 years. The main expectation anyone should have from any establishment that serves hot food is for the food to come to you....hot. It's usually a 15-20 minute wait for food when we've ordered, whether busy or not, and the food always arrives luke warm on a good day. 15-20 minute ticket times is standard for a casual sit down restaurant, not fast food. Order accuracy is hit and miss. Also, if you're going to charge patrons for sauces, you should probably make sure the sauces make it into the bag. I've had to step into the doorway of the kitchen to get the sauces I was charged for - but seriously, charging for marinara sauce for mozzarella sticks? The service has been hit or miss. Hey, it’s sonic it’s not the freaking Ritz Carlton, but they do what they do and they do it good. The burger never really been disappointed with the burger you get from sonic, big flat patty good crisp lettuce onion nice tomato. How can you go wrong with that? Cheese sticks Ooey gooey cheese sticks those things are incredible! Who does not like fried cheese? If you can’t find something to drink here, there’s probably something wrong with you. They had every flavor you can think of to any drink that you want, some of my favorites are of course the cherry limeade, vanilla Coke zero, fresh lime slush, and a ll of the shakes are amazing! I tried the new mocha, it was really good. But it’s really hard also to mess up ice cream so you know. If you’re not worried about spending some time waiting

This was a bacon double cheeseburger with mayonnaise, pickle, and onion. No bacon, might as well been plain, basically no mayonnaise,pickle, or onion. This was the worst burger, fries, and shake. My wife’s shake , burger, and fries went to the trash. The food was horrible, I will not visit Sonic again. Best thing was the peppermint and Tums afterwards.

After leaving WalMart we decided to grab something from Sonic. This Sonic has the classic setup where you order from your car. This was my first time seeing one like this as I’m accustomed to the ones with the drive-thru. It was dope to see the classic setup and make for a fun experience. As we hadn’t eaten too long before I got the classic Hot Dog. I loveeeeeeee the sweet relish. It paired well with the natural saltiness of the hot dog. The bun was soft, not warmed but at least it wasn’t hard. The chopped onions were the right amount for the size of the hot dog. As a heads up, there’s no mustard or ketchup on the classic so if you want it make sure you ask for it to be added. It's usually a struggle when I take the chance on Sonic but this time was really bad. While the service was fast and the staff pleasant the food was even more rough than usual. The burger I got was thrown together in a way that suggested the person making it was angry. The onion rings were objectively horrifying. Bits of burnt and crumbling onions that looked like the bottom of an old bag. Another regretful Sonic experience.
