The ambiance is nice but the prices are a bit high for the food and drinks. I ordered salmon and grits from the brunch menu with an espresso martini. I’ve had better espresso martinis. It was a lil bitter. The food was good but not the best I’ve ever had. The service could be better as well. I kept having to get the servers attention. Not the worst spot but there is room for improvement.

While I am all about supporting Black-owned businesses, this establishment should be ashamed of its service, its food, and the atmosphere. First, the food. They are simply cashing in on the Nigerian food hype. They have suya on the menu, and I am not sure if anyone on the staff has ever tasted suya before. Zero spice. Zero suya seasoning. It is just regrilled meat that comes out dry. And the jollof was even worse. It is just mildly seasoned orange rice. No flavor. No jollof base (tomato, pepper, onion blend). Not a single country in Africa has jollof rice that tastes like this. The drinks were too sweet. The Old Fashioned had too much sugar, and the other drinks that were ordered were also very sweet. They are too cheap on the alcohol and rely heavily on syrup for their drinks. The service

I have been in DC for work since Wednesday night (staying near the convention center) and this is my favorite spot so far! I was a solo diner and they still let me have a table (I am short and don't.love my legs dangling at the bar) and were INCREDIBLY attentive. I felt so welcomed and all the staff worked together seamlessly to deliver unique (to my PNW palate) and exquisite drinks and food I texted my friends during dinner to let them know that when they come home to the east coast for events, they should stop in DC for this experience. If you are debating what to order, start with the Grandmas Suya and the Jaba, then you MUST get the get the sweet potato croquette. Imagine the best ever spritz you have had + a 2 star spicy, incredibly, mouthwatering tender kabob, and then add in a sweet

Was my 1st time visiting. It’s a really nice, cute, cozy spot. Definitely worth checking out. Received excellent customer service The drinks were amazing, there is so much to choose from on both the liquor & food menu. Will definitely be re visiting.

Highly anticipated going to Sost for the first time. Sost encompasses stunning/elevated decor consistently throughout its 3 levels--the vinyl room (speakeasy bar), hybrid cafe and resto-lounge. I met up with a friend for dinner. We enjoyed the Sambusas together which were spiced to perfection. I then went on to have the Grandma's Suya Platter for my main. The portions of jollof rice and beef suya skewers were plentiful. We topped off our dinner with the Sweet Potato Croquette which reminded me of a funnel cake. I wish it would have been a little softer, but it was still really good, especially with the fresh vanilla ice cream. Our server, Nicole, was pleasant and super attentive! She checked in on us frequently. After dinner, we made our way all the way downstairs to the vinyl room for ano
