Southern Classic Foods SOUL FOOD

While in town visiting and had no idea where to grab some real soul food and we stumbled upon this spot as it was close to our hotel. I absolutely will dine here again!!!! Our food was delicious and the employees were very pleasant. I had the catfish nuggets, okra & fried corn…delicious!!!! My friend had the baked chicken, baked macaroni & cheese & collard greens…delicious!!! I tasted his Mac n cheese and had to order me a side, frfr, talk about cheesy!!!

I only write reviews when it’s 4/101 After a long day of baking, I had to go to Dunwoody for a business matter. Since I'm rarely in the area, I thought I'd grab a bite to eat! I live in Lawrenceville and decided to stop at this place. Unfortunately, this is definitely not soul food; I apologize, but I am a southern cook. The pork chops were smothered, but it was really just pork chops with canned gravy slathered on top! The black-eyed peas were plain and lacked seasoning. The plate tasted as bad as it looked. Personally, I wouldn't serve it up like that. The guy at the front kept touching his beard and had no personality whatsoever! One of my favorite soul food restaurants. I always come here by myself to just listen to music, eat and draw. The staff is always respectful and the place is beyond peaceful. I’ve never had an issue. The shrimp plate is really great and I just always enjoy my experience here.

I was in the area and decided to buy us some lunch. The atmosphere was vibing, good music, the people dining in seem as if they were having a very good time. The staff was friendly and very polite. We had smothered pork chops and the catfish fingers dinner. Which was very good, seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The Mac and Cheese was okay, the greens were great. We were not really impressed with the dressing seemed sweet but that could be just preference. The only thing I really didn’t care for were the yams. I thought the cinnamon was over powering sort of tasted a bit like pumpkin pie. Other than that it was a nice find for us.

First time coming to this establishment on yesterday and I can say I’m thinking of going back again very very soon. The only thing I added to my food was hot sauce on my fish. 10/10 for this restaurant and please believe I’ll be back
