Southern Girls Soul Food

This past Sunday my family went out to the restaurant to get some good ol' southern food. The hostess was very accommodating and the staff was very friendly. The food was delicious that night and the next.. unfortunately I came late and could not experience some of the fried dishes, but from what I heard and saw my dad devoured that pork chop...he said it was flavorful and tender.

The food is hands down the best soul food in all of NYC. The only downside is the wait can be a little long for takeout orders but the food is worth the wait.

I ordered Uber Eats and they sent the wrong sides. That would not have been so much a problem if the food was good. Except it wasn't. I was a quite shocked at how bland the food was. The string beans were canned and bland, the collards were frozen and bland, and the cheese in the mac and cheese was DISGUSTING! I have a wicked sweet tooth but I even threw the coconut cake in the garage, The food was comparable to hospital or cafeteria food. I was exceptionally disappointed. Unacceptable.

I’ve been to the old one before they moved and enjoyed it. This new spot way better more intimate and cozy. Also the food was slamming. Let me say they do need a few more hands cause the business is poppin and consist customers coming in. Can I say the tall young lady was great and so pleasant I don’t know her name but a beautiful spirit. Our waiter which was also the bartender lolol Crystal man oh man she’s the bomb. She was great and official. Really loved the service from beginning to end. My aunts enjoyed the service and especially food. My God!!!! Definitely will make it my business to return at least once a month lolol. Love ya

The food was so good. We a repass there and had a buffet style dinner, only thing missing was corn bread. But the staff was very short with people. Also sort of rude . No smiles. Did not feel welcomed. The owner needs to address them to be a little more inviting. Honey can go a long way than vinegar. Just saying 😌
