Southern Girls Take 2 Soul Food

Randomly stumbled upon this place, sure outside has much to be desired but because of the asphalt not the people. Inside is warm and cozy so winter is a great time to visit. Many dishes are fresh prepared and it’s a small business so more the reason to support them and despite the solo desk gal being so busy, she was really sweet and courteous.

We’ve ordered 3x and each order was great in portion, well seasoned and delicious. My Mother enjoyed the food so much she literally sucked the juice from the bbq chicken wing bone! The meat falls off the Turkey bone, greens are not over cooked. fish is cornmeal crispy ! Star left off only cuz they’re out of peach cobbler and banana pudding *** Please list what type of cake your serving also!

The food was good and service ok. The decor was uninteresting but very clean. Visited a few times and was satisfied.

Came here for lunch while my van was getting serviced across the street. As a native of the south I’m real skeptical of restaurants above the Bible Belt claiming “soul food” status. This spot however tasted like a piece from home. If you zoom in close to the Mac and cheese you’ll see little morsels on them. That’s called seasoning. Too many restaurants up north don’t have it on their food. The string beans were good as well. My baked chicken was so delicious and I got 4 thighs where the meat was so flavorful and tender that it was slightly falling of the bone. I’m not gone lie, that cornbread taste like somebody grandma back there baking. Just saying. Last but not least they have kool aid. With the right amount of sugar in it too. Definitely the best “soul food” restaurant I’ve been to up

I was scared to try this place for the longest because of some of the reviews but I was greatly surprised! My food taste AMAZING! The wait was a little long due to the cashier also packing orders but the food was worth the wait! I really enjoyed this whiting with shrimp and macaroni and cheese. It was delicious!!! Definitely will be back! My boyfriend had the bbq ribs and he couldn’t stop raving about! Sorry I have no photos I dived in 🤣
