Spanky's Burgers

Really nice chill place. Our good veteran friend Johnny brought us for lunch & we all had the enchiladas. Wow. They were delicious! The drinks! I haven’t had TANG in years!! Thanks for letting me walk down memory lane with this.. Definitely coming back with my kids 💛

Ordered the pecan chicken salad sandwich on rye toasted. Also includes tomato, cucumber, lettuce side salad with a raspberry vinaigrette. The cucumber was extra fresh. Also included a tortilla soup. The sandwich and salad are satisfactory, I’d skip the soup. Three stars because, The resaca patio was closed, had hoped to sit out there. There was light rain today, so maybe next time. Enjoyed the breeze in the front patio of the restaurant. Doggie welcomed.

April 2024 - great place for lunch if you're in Brownsville. Specialty Burgers & Mexican food with a kid menu 😋. I dare you to try the Space X 🍔 burger. They even have a healthy menu. The service is always great because you're greeted with a 😃 smile. The atmosphere is fun. I love the tribute to 9/11 and the patches all around the restaurant. There's so much to look at and see on display. This is a must-stop for us each time we visit Brownsville. Jul 2025 - lunch stop once again before departure from Brownsville. I had the beef taco plate that I found good. The service was great. The staff was very pleasant. Make it a stop, check them out.

My new favorite burger place! Fried pickles were great. They looked and tasted fresh, and come with the perfect amount of ranch. The Avocado Burger was awesome. The avocado was perfectly ripe, and the burger was huge. I feel like it could use more pickles, but I’m pretty sure that’s my pregnancy craving kicking in so no points lost for that. The fries are good, though I wish they had a bit more crunch to them. My husband the cheeseburger and it was also huge and delicious. The onion rings were fresh and really good!

Burger was juicy, onion rings were very crispy as opposed to the french fries. All lacked flavor. Best tasting soda fountain!
