Secret Soup: 5/5 Tasting more like a regular hotpot, the broth was very flavorful and had a strong kick. Even at medium spice, the broth had a solid warmth without burning your mouth. A fairly new malatang that opened less than a year in the Vons plaza on lemon and la puente rd. It’s right next to the laundry place. In the city of walnut, or in city of industry on valley blvd, a malatang restaurant is super rare. I have seen their names on doordash, tried it a couple of times through the app, it is decent but only thing is that even the mild is too spicy for me. I saw their yelp reviews and they got a 4.8 average of ratings which its very good so i decided to come down to the restaurant to try dining in. Perfect weekday dinner spot! After work, my friends and I decided to treat ourselves to some spicy foods, then we came to LXF Malatang, I ordered beef bone soup with medium spicy, The soup was rich, the ingredients were fresh, and the portion size was generous. Definitely coming back with friends next time.

Great price for $11.99/lb as of Nov 2025. We've been there many times and it's still pretty good and bang for your buck hot pot place. The place is small inside. They now have a better layout and interior after renovation. What I love about this restaurant is that the owner is very friendly and the soup base is flavorful and addictive. It's a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but we like to support our local businesses in Walnut. I wish they had the fishballs with fillings, more beef options, and faster serving time. Our whole family like LXF Malatang.
