love the vibe and the food. wood fired oven baking up the bagels fresh was an awesome experience. even when you go in, it makes you want to stay there the rest of the day.
Not my first time at Spread Bagelry and just to set the stage, we always get our bagels toasted. Everything bagel with veggie cream cheese: This was our favorite. Simple, fresh, and hit the spot. Turkey bacon, egg & cheese: It was alright. Nothing too exciting, but honestly, it’s hard to mess up a bagel. Onion bagel with egg & cheese: This one came in second place—solid flavors and nicely balanced. The coffee (La Colombe) was fresh and bold, just how I like it. Overall, is it the best bagel in town? Probably not. But definitely a solid, reliable spot. it’s a bit on the pricier side. Three bagels and two coffees ran me about $41.
We went at the busiest time 10 am on a Saturday. So I expected a wait, no problem. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was tasteless and bagels were real dry. Not much flavor even with scallion cream cheese. Portions were generous. Coffee was good. Bacon tasted old like precooked. Again the bacon egg and cheese bagel did not have a lot of flavor. Real disappointed, I heard good things about this place.
If you don’t mind waiting in a crowded place (even after ordering in advance online), then you’ll probably be fine. After all, The bagels are very tasty and the coffee was good. But my hangry 11 year old says it’s not worth the wait. lol. I would potentially return, but only if I was not in a hurry to be somewhere.
