St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral

I photographed at St. George Orthodox Cathedral for our couples Greek wedding ceremony. Such a gorgeous cathedral, absolutely a gorgeous! Father Diametrious was so happy, friendly and very helpful with us needing to mic him. Greek crowning was the focus of the ceremony, it was beautiful. The stained glass windows, tall ceilings and all the paintings on the walls were so pretty.

The cathedral and the cultural center are both great. The Glendi festival held here every September is a lot of fun, has great food and a wonderful celebration of Greek culture.

A beautiful 19th century cathedral that was later turned into a Greek Orthodox church. The Liturgy is given in a mix of Greek and English. My wife and I stopped through for a service while traveling for the day and were very warmly welcomed by the parish and the clergy. I’m looking forward to stopping through again in the future. (I’d love to see how this congregation does Pascha.)

I can explain how good this place is. You need to experience it. I had visited Cathedrals all over the world and I can say that this one is very special and very beautiful.

Clergy leaves much to be desired. Absolutely, no warmth, love, (Agapi), in the services. Absolutely no interaction with laity. Do yourself a favor, & skip the cold, long faces. Keep them the same distance they keep from the congregation.
