Stephen Williams House

This is the second time we have stayed at the beautiful Stephen Williams Home and hope to return when ever staying in Savannah. The home is furnished to the nines with magnificent antiques and everywhere you look there are elegant pieces of furniture, books, silver and ceramics. The best part of our time here is at breakfast, when Dr. Albert Wall and his staff, prepare an elegant meal using 100 year old recipes collected from the area and served in the most amazing dining room. Dr. Wall exudes Southern charm and is a wealth of knowledge and a great storyteller. The home also has a beautiful hidden garden and patio. I am certain you will enjoy your stay

We stayed at the Stephen Williams House for three nights. We should have stayed longer. It's really a B&B. Our host, Dr. Albert Wall, is a gracious person who not only serves you a breakfast, but tells you about the southern dish he has prepared for you. He doesn't sit at the table as you eat but he visits with you, offering suggestions for visiting Savannah, making you feel very welcome and delighting you with his southern charm. The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed sitting out on the porch in the early morning or evening, overlooking the patio garden with a fountain. While it isn't the closest place to the busy downtown, it is with reasonable walking distance to everything and quieter. My wife and I spent a wonderful 4 nights in the second-floor James Troup Dent room. The inn is a veritable museum of antiques, silver, and books, with a secluded garden. The location in the historic district is superb, and there is free off-street parking. Best of all is Dr. Albert Wall, the owner, who prepares breakfast using old Savannah recipes. Gracious and loquacious, he is a font of knowledge about Savannah history and architecture, with excellent recommendations. He provides work for student helpers, and there is daily room service. Highly recommended.

Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the owner Dr. Albert Wall (Doc) who made me feel right at home. |The B&B itself is a picturesque home tucked away in a corner of the Historic District. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful 100-year-old garden. We stayed on the garden level in a cozy room with everything we needed. The shower was great!|One of the highlights of our visit was the delicious breakfast served each morning. Doc is not only a gracious host but also a talented chef using recipes that were very old & very southern! While serving breakfast he gave us recommendations for local attractions brief anecdotes on the history of the area. Everything is within walking distance which was great.|We highly recommend this charming B&B for your next escape to Savannah.

This is an absolutely beautiful place to stay! Great location in central Savannah; we walked a few blocks to catch the Hop On Hop Off trolley to get around Savannah and sightsee. The Stephen Williams House is beautifully furnished. Our room was downstairs and looked out on a garden. A living room was shared with residents of one other room, whom we rarely saw. Breakfast is served upstairs, and you are asked what time you would like to eat and what preferences and allergies you may have. Dr. Albert Wall is a retired doctor and a native of Savannah. He and his wife Alice run the Stephen Williams House. Meeting them and enjoying the delicious breakfast they prepare for their guests was the most enjoyable aspect of staying there!
