Strange Matter Coffee Eastside

Always incredible. The people are amazing. Their doughnuts are awesome, especially the gluten free cake doughnuts. I also love their scones! Strange Matter will always be my go-to.

Strange Matter has such a wonderful and welcoming atmosphere! We love stopping in to grab a pastry and coffee or hanging out at a table to study for a while. Truly no other vegan donuts compare to the ones found here! Everyone back home loves supporting Strange Matter as well and are so thrilled when I am able to bring one of the signature pink boxes back with me! Much love from Indiana!

I have always loved strange matter and found it a great place to sit and read or work for a bit. Now that I have been diagnosed with celiac, I have a special appreciation for the amazing gluten free donuts, the fluffiest and best I have ever had! Their tea is a great treat, and the gluten free cranberry pastry was stunning. I'll be driving back to Lansing for more.

Stopped on Halloween on my way through town and had a great experience! Got a Cortado for there and an iced latte for the road, and both were great! They also had a great selection of spooky themed donuts in addition to the clearly big normal selection and the one I got was delightful as well. Staff was super friendly on top of that. Would happily come again!

One thing I always appreciate about a city is their ability to play host to quality coffee shops. I must say Strange Matter is the best Lansing and it’s surrounding areas has to offer. Unfortunately, they don’t really have to compete against much other than Blue Owl coffee, who doesn’t even roast their own beans. I usually come to strange matter to get a bag of their single origin beans and a fresh vegan donut. I am always impressed by the colorful and creative flavors of donut they have. I also love that they give you a complimentary cup of coffee with the purchase of a bag of beans. I haven’t had a reason to enjoy their large open seating area yet but, from the looks of it, there’s many seating options to either enjoy a book on your own, get some work done, or catch up with friends.
