Popular dinner spot in Cambridge! Food: 5/5 The thai food here was SO good and SO affordable! Portions were really generous. Service: 4/5 Overall it was very fast and attentive upon seating. However, the wait to be seated took quite a long time despite being 3rd in line, and when it said that our table was ready online, we still had to wait another 15 minutes. Totally understandable though since it was a Saturday night, just reflecting on personal experience. Atmosphere: 5/5. Loud, upbeat, and vibey. Interior is very aesthetic and in a tighter space, but super fun and a great place to grab dinner and chat with friends. Overall, I highly recommend this spot if you are in the Cambridge area.
It’s okay Thai food, it’s just way too oily and doesn’t taste that fresh/high quality. The pork belly I was eating was 90% fat and I only got one chunk of lean meat. The Khao Soi egg noodles don’t taste super fresh and one time I got them a bit undercooked and hard.
I don't write many reviews. For me to write a review a restaurant has to be either really bad and amazingly good. Sugar and spice is amazingly good Thai food! My wife says it was the best pad thai she's ever had. My son had the tamarind duck, which I sampled, and I had the kanom jean nam ngaio (see pics). Both were sooo good. Service was very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back!
Great food & environment. Service was a bit slow but not bad. Food: - Chicken Satay ($8.95) Good flavor and pairs well with sweet peanut sauce - Kor Moo Yang ($15.95) Loved this! Good char flavor and the acidity & sweetness of the sauce balanced the fattiness of the pork very well - Kanom Jean Nam Ngiao ($16.95) Super underrated dish!!! Rice noodles and extremely tender, fall-off the bone pork ribs in a tomato curry both. Tastes almost like bun rieu for those who are familiar with the dish. Interior: Warm and cozy. Good for small & larger groups. Large menu with so many options. Definitely have to return to try more!
Many dishes not served by many other Thai restaurants. Unique plates and varied. Big portions and it’s spicy hot it’s spicy hot. Spare rib curry was excellent, very hot. The crispy duck was delicious, delicately orange sweet with saltiness, perfect balance. Lunch dishes offer discounts. Very friendly staff. Definitely come back to try other dishes.
