Sunny Hunny by the Sea Family Restaurant & Pancake House

😍Darling little eatery with honest, well-made, tasty food. Pefect Jersey Shore breakfast! We visit every time in town. The DeeSpecial Eggs Benedict is top-notch. Even the S.O.S. was properly prepared. Just go & tell them Penny sent you. 😊

We went here for a late breakfast and so happy we did! Everyone was happy with their food: lox benedict eggs, chicken caesar wrap, and Micky Mouse pancakes- all were delish! The place has large indoor sitting area and some outdoor tables. We liked little ocean-themed details in the restaurant. For coffee lovers- they have an espresso machine! No cappuccinos but you can construct your own by mixing espresso shots and warm milk 😅.

Food was pretty basic with nothing too special on the menu, some folks in my party didn't feel great afterwards but it could have been the heat. Kitchen was slow coming out with the food granted we had a large party. Probably not going here again, the place itself is quite nostalgic feeling and they even had an Elmo character giving out balloons to kids in front which was nice.

We made an excellent choice heading right down the road to Ortley Beach for Mother’s Day breakfast at Sunny Hunny by the Sea Family Pancake House and Restaurant. (I couldn’t resist the name) Sunny Hunny originally opened in the 1960s and is a women lead business in New Jersey. The restaurant has been in the family of the owner for 35 years - and they have plenty of stories to share from over the years…one in particular being their story of enduring the effects from Hurricane Sandy.
