JJ and his team are incredibly kind, and the food is always amazing. We come in pretty often, and they remember our drink orders, which truly makes us feel special. We really appreciate the quality and cleanliness, along with the great prices for sushi.
After 4 attempts to get some Wasabi and ginger. They bring us 1 cellophane packet with 1/2 teasp of wasabi inside. The trick is you cannot open them. In the meantime you are starving. There is nothing on the conveyor belt you want. We put our order in and wait. Still no drinks. Again, requested jasmine tea. 15 mins later it arrived in a 20ozs to go coffee cup. Our very small shrimp tempura arrived. 2 to be exact. Not the standard 4 prawns at other restaurants. Disappointing outing. Do not recommend. Unorganized waitresses have no idea what to do, or how to provide service. Stand around ignoring us. There were twelve of us prepared to eat, prior to going to movie.
I personally like this restaurant the best in the Portland area. I've been a regular customer of theirs for years and still go there often. The price is reasonable and the taste is very good. There are many sushi restaurants in this area, but when considering the price-performance ratio, I think this restaurant is the best. Among many restaurants, there are many restaurants that boast of being the best in sushi and charge a lot of money for the meal, but basically, the taste of sashimi comes from the fish, and people cannot artificially produce the taste. And I can say with certainty that there are only 3~4 companies that supply sashimi in this area, so the fish used in high-end restaurants and the sashimi from the neighborhood are the same fish in the end, and in most cases, the qualit
I was really disappointed with my experience at this sushi restaurant. The food itself was average at best, but what truly ruined the visit was the service. The owner was rude and dismissive, and made us feel like our presence was an inconvenience rather than valued customers. We had to wait a long time for assistance, and when we did ask questions or needed help, the owner was not attentive or friendly. Customer service is just as important as the food, and unfortunately this place fell short in a big way. I won’t be returning and would not recommend it based on this experience.
edit: Initially I gave this place a 1 star review, but have changed it to 3 stars since coming back. This time, the food was better and being made fresh. Most of the rolls are full of imitation crab, which is fine, just makes it feel lacking in variety. The food was decent, although seemed that some things lacked flavor. I will check back in again sometime to see if any additional improvements are made.
