Service and Food well beyond what looks like a quick serve restaurant. I was desperately craving good sushi after a disappointing experience at a different restaurant the night before. We decided to take a chance on Sushiya Express, largely because they were open when we needed them to be (so many other spots don't open until 5 PM), and we were beyond surprised by how incredible it was. The service was outstanding and showcased a level of politeness that is hard to find these days—I asked for something and it was handed to me with both hands, which is such a lost sign of respect. The food matched the service. The miso soup was rich and flavorful. I ordered the Chirashi and it was excellent. The sushi rice was seasoned with furikake and very flavorful, and I ordered a side of sliced jala
This is my FAVORITE sushi restaurant and I am a picky eater but Sushiya is the BEST. Ive been here so many times and I promise you the quality is better than any expensive nice ambience sushi restaurant in downtown SB and all inexpensive ones combined. Sushiya is the best and the workers are always so kind and always smiling. I love visiting sushiya for my sushi fix, the quality is consistent and it hits every time. I always get their dragon roll, Alaska roll, and spicy baked salmon roll, all so delicious I can never decide my favorite. The rolls are BIG, portions are generous and it comes with free miso soup which is really yummy too! Thank you Sushiya for the amazing food, kind service, and good vibes.
Love the Kalbi! Tofu beef soup is fine.
The best quality sushi in town! This place is definitely a hidden gem filled with fresh ingredients and authentic foods. The poke bowl: it has fifty-thousands flavors of ocean. And their Galbi Bowl got real Korean BBQ marination done perfectly balanced with tenderness of the meat.
Came with high expectations, left disappointed and dissatisfied. Had a bad experience at the restaurant for a first time. Not very inviting. Ordered a California roll and plain udon soup which was mostly covered in oil. The California rolls fell apart themselves and the soup wasn’t nice. It’s not a cheap place compared to other options around. Spent around 22$ for these two dishes. I even found a piece of aluminum or whatsoever inside my miso soup. The place seems to offer different Asian dishes but none of them being good enough. Quality of food: 3/10 Atmosphere: 4/10 Recommend(?) No Price: $$
