Swann House

What a special place! I stayed at Swann House as a solo traveler for three nights in March. The room I stayed in felt spacious and cozy at the same time. Swann House overall is both charming and modern. The first floor common areas are beautifully appointed with lots of great nooks for reading/relaxing. The host, Christine, prepares a varied and nutritious breakfast every morning for guests to enjoy in the dining room. Christine has included so many nice touches throughout. I particularly enjoyed perusing the bookshelf and the tea/coffee service that’s available throughout the day. Will be back!

My wife and I stayed at the Swann House for four nights over Christmas to visit our daughter who lives close by. We loved everything about our visit. From the minute we arrived we felt welcome in this amazing bed and breakfast/inn. We stayed downstairs in Room 9 which was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was gorgeous - with a stand alone jetted tub and a large shower with multiple high showerheads. Our room had a separate entrance to the outside which was convenient. The shared spaces on the first floor are stunning. We enjoyed quietly sitting in the main room relaxing and reading. Breakfasts were terrific - Fresh ingredients and the dishes were creative. This trip to Washington DC was planned as a restful and relaxing vacation. Quiet time and no rushing around were my main priorities. The Swann House provided the perfect place to stay. It is clean and decorated for visitors to enjoy. Christine, Sabeen, and staff were welcoming and kind. My bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. I loved sitting in the main room and drinking a cocktail in the evening.

Swann House was exactly what I wanted for my short trip to DC...amazing location, warm and gracious hospitality, and a relaxing vibe throughout. Christine and her team have done a wonderful job creating a space that is inviting and unpretentiously elegant. The room was very comfortable and well-appointed and my breakfast was delicious with several options for a healthy start to the day. Although it was my first stay at Swann House, it certainly won't be my last. Highly recommend!

I only stayed one night at the Swann House, but I am looking forward to visiting again. Christine and Matthew are charming hosts who make you feel welcomed from the moment you enter. There was a change in my itinerary and Christine graciously accommodated me. ||The interior is nicely decorated, warm and clean. I stayed in Guest room 3. It was equally cozy and warm with nice amenities like robes, slippers, cold drinks and toiletries. ||The king sized bed was exceptionally comfortable. Tub/shower had good hot water and great water pressure.||Breakfast was Continental-as noted. A good array of fruit, pastry, granola, hard boiled eggs, fruit juices and other beverages are available.
