OH MY GOSH, if you have a little one , you NEED to bring them here for play and meet time (it’s called something like that lol). It reminded me of when I went to co-op …. My mom paid so much money for me to go to these classes when I was younger , but this is just the same …. BUT FREE (: my son had an amazing time , he learned lots and got to play with many children around his age (he is 16 months) . There were children around 5months old- 5yrs ….. mainly 1-3 yr olds . The teacher was sooooo nice and very welcoming . It was our first time going today . The teachers name I believe was Cheryl…. I’m not exactly sure , but if not than something with an S … if you need a place to take your little one to, I say bring them here on a day they have they meet and plays (:

I love this place, I have met a lot of very understanding libraries. They have offered guidance in not only literature but also being there to help support me while being in dire situations. They are very understanding and willing to help even if they don't always feel like it. Also they have a lot of good resources for people to use. I am homeless and have been able to use several of the resources to help my situation. Also it is a very welcoming environment, they tell me good morning every single time I am there, they also greet me with a warm smile. Their strategy for de-escalation Is also relatively well rounded. Highly disappointed at the judgemental, dismissive, and aggressive behavior of the library staff at this Tacoma library location, who's behavior makes it clear the space is not a welcoming space for Black women. My friend and roommate recently tried to get a library card so she can study as a college student near our place. When presenting her address (we live in Tacoma, with Ruston zoning being 4 streets away) the librarian would not issue her a library card because they claimed she lived in Ruston - even after pulling up Google Maps and the address clearly stating Tacoma, not Ruston. The librarian grabbed a second librarian who was just as hostile - and my friend left without a library card.
