Tacos El Pariente II (Gaithersburg)

I came for lunch and was so in awe of individually hand painted booths. Take the time look around, you feel like you are in a gallery of Mexican history. I asked Grace for a recommendation and ordered a #1 Birria. Perfectly prepared, and moderately spicy, it was very filling. I also added a Birria Ramon, to go, for my sister. She loved it!!! The family has a wonderful authentic restaurant concept, one meal at a time.

I’m so grateful to my boyfriend, Fernando, for introducing me to this place. The tortas are delectable and big enough to share with two people. If you like your torta bread served fried donut style, then you’ll love the torta here at Tacos El Pariente II. As for the tres leches cake and the drinks, I definitely recommend getting those two if you’re craving for something sweet. Because of my social anxiety and my lack of Español, I was nervous ordering so again, I’m thankful to Fernando Arellano for introducing me to more Hispanic street food. 谢谢！ありがとう！¡Gracias! I knew it wasn’t gonna be like Mexican food I get where I live but the photos looked good and the reviews were awesome so I had to try. The birria is good, but not the wow factor everyone else said. The red salsa packs some heat so be careful if you’re sensitive to spice. Unfortunately, it took way too long to get our food in a slow day which didn’t help the situation.

I’ve visited Tacos El Pariente in Gaithersburg multiple times, and this place delivers every single time! Whether you’re craving their famous Birria Tacos with Consomé or classics like Carnitas, Chorizo, and Asada, the food is always on point. The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and the Jarritos are always cold – what more could you ask for? The service is quick and friendly, making every visit smooth and enjoyable. If you’re a taco lover, this spot is a must. Can’t wait to come back again! Highly recommend.

I had an appointment nearby and stopped in here, what a great experience! The birria special #1 was delicious, super-tender pulled beef, two flavorful salsas and a hearty broth, plus the traditional onions, cilantro, cucumbers, radishes and pepper. The coffee came Mexican style with sugar and spices. Really friendly and helpful service too. I’ve lived in Mexico and this place took me back there 🇲🇽🤗
