Omg I ordered too much and still wanna try some more things! This charming, open-air weekend spot has plenty of parking and breezy “indoor” and outdoor spaces, and is kinda hidden right by the tangle of the 101 with Bayshore, César Chavez, and Potrero. It has a largely Michoacán-style menu—the Michoacán enchiladas are huge yet balanced and delicious, and they have a Michoacán style pozole and the chilaquiles can be done with a Michoacán mole. Everything was crispy and tender and flavorful, and it’s clear the chefs are experienced and use the best ingredients. I tried their piloncillo latte with my food—it was sweet and creamy with a rich molasses-y, kind of raisin-y quality that proved too easy to drink. The food is amazing and brings Michoacán pride. Anything you pick to order is absolutely delicious and fresh. Make sure to have some time to chill out afterwards to enjoy the shade in the hot sun with the light breeze ☀️

They are the best kept secret around. It's hidden inside a parking lot; however, I highly recommend their Mexican hot chocolate or Mexican mocha. I love their breakfast burritos, as well as their street tacos. Tacos El Toño is family run. Give them a try! You'll be glad you did.
