Tacos El Unico SOUTH GATE

Me gusto; I liked it! First time here and will def be returning next time w the family. Food was surprisingly good and fresh tasting, prices were right, plenty of sides to serve yourself, and friendly customer service! Place was spacious and clean, too 👍

For a long time the chorizo asada fries were so good. But recently idk what they did but they changed the recipe of the chorizo or something because now the chorizo is sweet and not spicy. It completely ruined the whole meal. I don’t know what changed but it is not good at all now.

Been to this Tacos El Unico before a number of times like the many others around town! This locations food is top notch and always great quality. This Up 'N Smoke menu though, it premiered May 3, 2023 and I am lucky enough to have tried it today. It was delicious! Everything. Literally, I tried every item. I have not been this satisfied at a Mexican taco spot or restaurant in a while. Taco: I ordered two smoked brisket tacos and everything just blended together perfectly. The Sonoran style tortilla, the Monterrey jack cheese slaw (incredible flavor) and delicious salsa macha to boot? You need to try them. It was like a party in my mouth and everyone was invited! Edit 02/01/21 Used to be my favorite restaurant but over the last year they dropped in quality. I don't know if they want to turn people away or give us cardiac arrest, but the food is not appealing. Once you get the aluminum foil off the tacos and burritos are drenched in grease and impossible for anyone to eat without wanting to gag. Too greasy. Today I tried giving it another go and and I had to throw my food away it was too greasy and the asada tasted sour so I didn't wanna risk it. $16 to the trash.
