Tag's Bakery

Not a Dresden Stollen We were told it is a Dresden Stollen, I got one for us and one for friends with roots in Europe. Turns out ... we were given 2 "Stollen", not the "Dresden Stollen" with marzipan core etc. Instead of $23.95 we paid $39.95. How could we see inside? And, the stollen is actually quite dry, takes a big coffee mug to wash that sand storm down. The only good feedback is ... the Florentines were excellent! My wife and I were offered one to sample, and we bought a few. I call that cheating. I don't like to hand out negative reviews, I like that we have a bakery in our neighborhood we can walk to in a few minutes. But that is more than a misshap.

Incredible bakery you must go visit! Half of the location is a bit green and the other half is a café. When I walked in, I was greeted with the smile and excellent service. I let them know. This is my first time visiting. They suggested a few of their most popular treats I picked up a few cookies to try And the friendly woman behind the counter, offered me a complementary cookie on the house. Not only was the service, great, and the cookies were delicious, but the interior space was immaculate. I will definitely come back and will recommend this location to any of my fellow Bakery lovers, thank you

The TV station WTTW gave a list of businesses that would be producing paczkis leading up to Fat Tuesday. I thought I'd try a new bakery, only to find that they won't even begin baking them until Friday. I left disappointed and empty-handed. Polish bakeries start with "Fat Thursday,"and indulge up until Lent. I went to nearby Bennison's Bakery instead, and they had 10 flavors available. I won't be visiting Tag's again.

This place is two stores back-to-back. The bakery is one side and it is home to the best ever Florentine cookies on earth. I also purchased 2 danish which were very fresh but a tad skimpy on the cherry filling and pecans. The second store is the cafe. The menu is limited and many of the dishes seem to have a lot going on in them so if you are in search of something simple, you probably won’t find it. I chose the basic breakfast sandwich. This was an egg “patty” with your choice of bread, meat and cheese. For as amazing as the bakery is, this sandwich was not very good and it was all because of the rubbery egg patty. That being said, the staff on both sides weren’t very friendly and just tolerated the customers. The cafe is a very cute space. Both are very clean And spacious. Def

Came here for the Florentine Biscuit/Cookie and it was delectable! Each cookie is about the size of an Oreo. They charge by weight, but each cost about $0.61 with tax. Florentine cookies are toasted almonds covered in caramel with a small dried cherry covered with hard caramel with one side smeared in milk chocolate. They do them well here! Service was prompt and courteous. I have not tried anything else here, but the rest of the sweets look promising!
