Tailat Kitchen (Nigerian Cuisine)

We wanted to have Nigerian food so we tried the Peppered stew with goat meat and the Bitter leaf Egusi. I loved the Peppered stew with tender meat and perfectly cooked white rice. I didnt care much for the cow skin in the Egusi but it did have other meats in the pot. My daughter liked it with the more neutral tasting swallow, but I forgot the name. We got there right at 11 so we were the first customers. We walk in and they hand us menus and walk off so I had to ask if we just sit anywhere. She definitely did not make us feel welcomed, but we were there for the food. The food came out fast and hot which was perfect. Not sure what the service is usually like, but they can definitely improve. They didn't come by to see if we needed anything and I had to up to the counter to ask for to- go

This was my first time trying Nigerian food, and it absolutely did not disappoint! I ordered the egusi soup with fufu and the jollof rice with chicken through Uber Eats, and every bite was bursting with flavor. The seasoning was perfect—spicy enough to enjoy, but not overwhelming. The fufu was a revelation—I’d never had it before, but its soft, mild texture paired perfectly with the rich, well-seasoned egusi soup. The jollof rice was amazing too, and the chicken was so tender it fell off the bone. Portions were generous, so we even had leftovers for the next day, making it totally worth the price. I can’t wait to order again and explore more of their menu. Highly recommended!

Food was very yummy and flavorful! Went with three of my very close friends and we had a great time. The service was amazing and when the food came out it was sizzling and boiling, definition of fresh and hot! We had the seafood ila, jollof rice with chicken, egusi with chicken, and the efo riro with assorted meat (cow skin, tripe, and beef). The flavors were so good and the spice was great.

Great place, and the food was tasty. The owner is very nice but one of the workers was rude. We called her, and she pretended she did not hear us. Plus I asked to change money for tip but she said there was no change. When the owner came to the register, she said there was change and very willing to help us. The other worker was great. Even though she had a tongue tie, she tried to communicate with us and was all smiles. The owner is really great and was very accommodating. The place is clean and the toilet was clean too. You should visit.

Mold or fungus was growing on literally every egg yolk in the salad. This is the third time now I have received spoiled, moldy or expired food or drink from this restaurant. This is a major health safety issue especially as it relates to food poisoning. They have good flavoring but I won’t trust the food quality. I won’t be giving them any more of my business.
