TAJ GRILL INDIAN CUISINE

I’ve had Indian food in countries all over the world, but the dinner we had here is one I will never forget. Every dish was packed with flavor, their wine selection was excellent and their garlic naan was among the best I've ever had. Our two servers, Navi and Harsh, were incredibly helpful and kind, and both made some great recommendations that really enhanced our experience. Thanks to both of them for such wonderful service!!! Will definitely be back the next time we’re in the area!

As a luxury travel advisor, my standards are shaped by exposure to best-in-class dining across international markets. Taj Grill Indian Cuisine performs at that level. The Karahi Chicken was the clear standout—bold, layered spice, excellent heat control, and a sauce profile that reflects authentic regional execution rather than a toned-down, generic approach. Protein was properly cooked, the aromatics were vibrant, and the dish delivered depth without heaviness. Paired with fresh naan and rice, the overall product was cohesive and intentional. Service was efficient, professional, and well-timed, supporting a smooth end-to-end dining experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and operationally sound, making it an easy repeat and a confident recommendation. Bottom line: this is a tightly run

I recommend this place for good Indian food (northern Indian— Punjabi style) if you are in the Napa area. Good service, ambience and delicious food. We (2) tried their Chicken Tandoori (bone-in), Taj Special Mutton curry, Tandoori Roti and Naan. Portions were generous, so we boxed some Tandoori Chicken and some curry. You should instruct them about the level of spiciness that you want in your curry or the Tandoori dishes. We requested ‘juicy inside’ Tandoori Chicken, and they didn’t disappoint. They served three whole leg pieces, perfectly charred from outside but moist meat near the bone.

No nonsense southern Indian dishes make this place unique among Napa’s boughie restaurants. Service was sluggish but well worth it. Between the four of us we ordered the okra, two lamb dishes, cauliflower and potatoes and rice. We had leftovers. Menu is extensive with all the usual dishes.

Unsanitary food conditions. I ordered butter chicken and it was given in a bowl that leaked dishwasher water out of the handle rivits into my food (see video). The waiter refused to remove the item from our bill and said he could only remake the food. I'm sorry, but now I don't trust the cleanliness of the restaurant and didn't want the food remade. Also, my husband ordered the goat vindaloo and 50% of it was bones (see picture). Will not return.
