Customer Reviews
Excellent Authentic food with reasonably well presentation of the dishes. Ambience was decent enough to celebrate any occasion. If you are looking for excellent authentic Indian food in CT, this is one of the BEST. Service was quick enough and server was attentive to take the right order. Will definitely recommend and come again
Tamarind is my go to place for every celebration. Be it birthday, anniversary or any special occasion. The food is just superlatively delicious. The ambience is always warm and welcoming. Jenny serves food with her whole heart and she is super friendly. Chef Tashi’s almost all dishes are just mouthwatering. Some of my favourite dishes are Chicken Hakka Noddles, Jhol Momo, Chethinnad Chicken, Samosa Chat, Chicken Biriyani and Tandoori Shirmp. You must visit Tamarind for an experience and flavoursome food. By, The Seafood Queen
Let me start off by saying Tamarind is a bit of an enigma... went there for a lunch recently and left w mixed feelings.... The exterior dsnt really scream restaurant and front parking is tricky. Upon entering the feel is a bit more upscale than most others that tend to have a more streetfood vibe. Giving the decor I was anticipating a bit more having gone to many high end Indian restaurants in the city close by. Not to say I or my party were upset but were anticipating a different experience. She was also preoccupied w/ the only other seated table in the restaurant at the time. We weren't given a run down on specials or really asked about anything. We ordered puchkas and so
100% is the best Indian cuisine I've had. I try something different every time I order and have not been let down yet. The food has a kick to it, so if you're not into spicy, it's not for you. Fortunately for us, we absolutely love it. The picture is the artichoke matter mushroom dish.
We arrived on a Tuesday night at 9:15 pm, well before the posted closing time of 9:45 pm, expecting to dine in. Instead, we were rudely turned away by the server (an Asian lady), who insisted dine-in was already closed. This was not a one-off misunderstanding—we’ve been seated at the same time before without issue. The worst part? This restaurant is in the middle of nowhere. Once we were refused service, we had no alternatives. By the time we could have reached another option, everything else would have been closed. We were stranded, not because of the hours, but because the server clearly didn’t want to serve us. She was glued to the TV and made it obvious that customers were an inconvenience. This wasn’t just poor service—it was dismissive, lazy, and disrespectful. If you’re considerin
