Taqueria El Gallo de Jalisco

Came here on recommendation of the lady at the Dorothy House museum. It was okay. I mean, the service was great (granted, I was the only one there) and the food came out quickly. The waitress/counter person was extremely friendly and accommodating. The interior was clean, which I appreciate, but bordering on gaudy-chic. But, this wasn't a fine dining establishment and I wasn't on a date, so, no big deal. The food wasn't bad, but it didn't knock my socks off either. When I say that, please consider that I have lived in Texas, AZ and CO; and have been to both NM and old Mexico multiple times. So, I'm pretty picky about Mexican food. I may, or may not, return here if Im back in the area.

The menudo and the gorditas were good, although I had never seen those gorditas before, I don't know where they're from. They have music, but the atmosphere is calm.

Had some oysters and tacos great stuff

I was all for it, until I saw roaches crawling on the wall behind their cooler full of condiments and that ruined it for me. I couldn't even eat the food I had already ordered to go.

We are from out of town and were impressed because of their great service and great food!! Overall loved this restaurant.
