Taqueria El Jacalito

Just tried it for the first time today. I walked in and was met by a nice woman making fresh tortillas. I took my time ordering for my wife and I. She had the Chicken Flautus with Rice and Beans. I got the Chile Relleno and Enchilada Combo with Rice and Beans and a side of tortillas. I got an order of 6 tacos to split between us of various meats as well. The salsa bar was big with several different hot sauces plus the usual suspects. We ate at home and I asked her what she would rate it. She gave it a 4.9 out of 5 and I would have to agree. Even the sides were good and the prices were very fair. Highlights were the Relleno, Flautas, Tacos, the salsas and the refried beans and fresh tortillas of all things. Men's bathroom was filthy. Salsa bar and free tortilla chips are excellent. Prices seem fair for 2025. Little sticky the tables. The food made up for it. I will possibly return.

We were.famished when we got there. We ordered gorditas, a burrito in Red sauce, posole, an asada quesadilla and drinks. The horchata was really good so I was excited. I picked up some chips and this is where the trouble began. I was expecting a crisp but got a stale crunch. I could tell these were probably the lowest quality wholesale chips they could buy. Big pass. When the food arrived, the gorditas were looking a little thin, but with hunger, my mom ate half way through the first one when she said, "these are awfully hard for gorditas". Absolutely incredible food. The spices were spot on, the rice was some of the freshest tasting I've ever had, every dish we tried was better than the last. I don't know what to recommend specifically because it was all outstanding. We will be back for sure.

The food is great I really enjoyed Sopes and the chilaquiles. Great customer service. I will return to taste the rest of the menu.
