Customer Reviews
Food was a 1/10. The rice isn't your traditional Jamaican rice, which we all know makes the meal an actual Jamaican Meal. They use long skinny grains that are used in Asian Cuisines and the "peas" are the huge beans. The owner should inform customers that he doesn't make it with the traditional rice and peas because it makes a huge difference with the taste of the food. The rice was bad. The Jerk chicken came with no sauce and no flavor. It honestly tasted like burnt flavorless chicken. This was honestly the worst Jerk Chicken I've ever had. I asked for Oxtail Gravy on my rice. The oxtail gravy was burnt. I confirmed this with my friend who ordered oxtail and rice. He threw his away because it had a scorched taste. Can you picture long skinny rice similar to an Asian cuisine with Burnt ox
This food truck was a fantastic experience! The curry chicken was perfectly cooked and the stir-fry vegetables were delicious, with a nice balance of sweetness from the carrots that complemented the curry perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised by the addition of beans to the rice – it was a unique and tasty touch. Beyond the delicious food, the service was excellent. The truck itself was clean and well-maintained, and I appreciated the use of order notification devices, which is a great way to avoid the noise of generators. The food was prepared incredibly quickly, and it was still piping hot and fresh. A big thanks to the owners for their hard work! Highly recommend.
This place was fantastic!! I’ve been following them on Instagram for a while, and finally found myself in Winston at the right time to go! I got their jerk chicken with rice and peas, and stir fried veg which was all amazing! They also recommended their beef patty, which was also delicious! Don, who was running the food truck was great! Can’t wait to go back again - the oxtails are next for me!
I’ve had the oxtail meal a few times. The flavor of the cabbage has really improved since the last time I had it, along with the rice peas. The oxtail were mostly tender but had a strong tomato taste which I wasn’t used to. I wasn’t able to eat my food for a while after I bought it but the way they wrapped my plate made it stay warm until I was able to eat it.
Food taste great! Im a spice girl so would appreciate it being a lil more punch with the spice. Clean plating and the beef patty tasted perfect! Would recommend trying! Oxtail fell off the bone, and cabbage perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.
