Taste of New York Smyrna

This place is unorganized & chaotic. It took 50 mins for this establishment to produce what was supposed to be jerk chicken (it wasn’t jerk it was plain ole BBQ chicken) cabbage, rice & beans & mac & Cheese. While the bar tenders did seem nice their customer service & communication skills are severely lacking. It’s no reason why I had to keep flagging them down to see what the hold up was. Nor was it communicated to me that there would be an extended wait time for one meal. I wish I could say the food was worth the wait but it most certainly was not nor was it worth the price. If this is what New York tastes like then the big apple is screwed. I do not recommend nor will I ever patronize this place again.

The food is excellent and the vibe is great. It's a small spot, but cozy. Love the karaoke....BUT the service. They are very nice, but this is the slowest place I've ever eaten at. The did come to apologize, but the owner really needs good help! She's very sweet and she was working as well trying to assist. This is my second time going and each time the wait crazy. The first time I think it took us almost 2 hours to get our food thank God for the music distracting us from the hunger. This time it was probably nearly an hour. I had a New York stip steak. It was medium well PERFECTLY COOKED AND SEASONED!👍🏾 I will go back again, lololol !

Good food. Bang Bang Shrimp was excellent. Unique menu selections. Nice congenial atmosphere. Ask for Jennifer, the server, if she is working that day. She was delightful, professional, and will probably be the primary reason for going back. FYI - no draft beer but wide selection of bottled beer.

We arrived approximately at 5pm on a Friday. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and seated shortly afterwards. The atmosphere was cozy, there was ample seating with plenty of window views. A bar is on the premise, with a stage for a live jazz band which they have occasionally. The menu had a wide variety of dishes, creatively named after areas in New York, entrees were reasonably priced. We ordered jerk chicken, and ox tail dinners. We also had adult beverages which were appropriately mixed. We were satisfied with the portions, and the way the food was seasoned. I will recommend this venue to friends and family.

After each meal you feel pleasantly full! I had the jerk chicken with mash potatoes! Mixing the two together made my taste buds dance! Finally the smooth background music pushes the rating for the taste of NY to an 11/10!!
