Flavorful, fresh food. I chose the Signature Chicken Shawarma Plate ($13.99), while my friend created her own Chicken Shawarma Plate. The Pomegranate Lemonade was $3.99. A good place for a quick lunch.
We visited Taim Falafel near the DuPont Metro station after a long day of sightseeing around DC, and it was absolutely worth it! Though the road is currently closed to traffic due to construction, it’s easily accessible for pedestrians. The restaurant sits right in the middle of several other eateries and directly across from Starbucks. It was a bit difficult to find parking in the area, but we were lucky enough to find free street parking just two blocks away. The interior was clean, modern, and very inviting. My wife ordered the Green Falafel, and I went with the Harissa Falafel, both served in fresh pita bread. You can choose up to six salad toppings and spreads — every single one we tried was flavorful and delicious. Perfect spot for a quick, healthy, and satisfying meal. Highly rec
one of my favorite meals i had on my trip to DC! i made a build your own bowl with vegan ingredients. it was so flawless and delicious i checked their store locator to see if i could start racking up rewards points. it turns out they're new york and DC only, which is a bummer for me. but if you're ever in the area, my god, you will not regret getting anything with the fried cauliflower or falafel in it. excellent diversity of fresh and flavorful food in generous portions. 10/10.
Taim Mediterranean Kitchen used to be one of my favorite spots for fast-casual Mediterranean bowls. The flavors were great, the portions were generous, and the price felt fair for what you received. It was one of those places where you could count on walking away full and satisfied. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been my recent experience. The portion sizes have noticeably shrunk, while the prices seem to have gone up. The bowls (if you can call them that) no longer feel as filling, and it’s harder to justify the cost compared to what you get. I understand that food costs have risen and restaurants have to adjust, but the value just doesn’t feel the same as it used to. I hope Taim can revisit portion consistency or pricing, because it really was a standout fast-casual option at one point.
This isn’t fast casual, bowl style. They take 20-30 minutes typically to prepare an order. It’s just humus and pita?! Mind blowing. Severely understaffed and inneficient. Food is tasty and high quality but menu prices go up every couple weeks with new prices scribbled up with sharpie.
