Least flavorful basil fried rice I have ever had. I would not recommend their fried rice dishes, based on this experience, unfortunately. Dish labeled as spicy, I ordered spice level Hot, and it was so bland (maybe a little soy sauce or salt but otherwise tasteless). The spring rolls were passable, and the sweet chili sauce was actually a notch above average. The inside is bright and clean. They had a nice selection of canned beverages including some unique regional drinks. The food was ready quickly, and the person at the counter was very friendly!
I’ve just barely gotten into my food and feel the need to leave this place a 5 star rating. I got the pad Thai and we got the crab rolls. They exceed what I expected! Can’t wait to go back and try other dishes! Super tasty and big portions!
We're new to the area, having lived in Jefferson for 13 years and in Los Angeles before that. In LA there's lots of great Thai restaurants, but not many in the Jefferson and Athens area. Siri Thai on the east side of Athens was our place to go for years, good but not outstanding. We've been so pleased with Thai 101. Their menu is small, but the dishes they offer are very well prepared and tasty, generous in portion size, and reasonable in price. It's just as good as the best of the Thai places in LA and their prices are better. I really like their Pad Thai. It's juicy and includes tamarind, an ingredient that many Thai places in the US leave out because it's a bit sour and most people prefer sweet. But mixed with the rest of the ingredients, it supercharges the flavor of the dish.
Love this place. My new go-to. The vegetables were just the way I like them. Cooked and crunchy. Not over done like some places like to make them. The staff was very pleasant as well. Had wings and fried rice as well. Perfectly done. Need more marketing and visibility.
I saw a recommendation on the Nextdoor App saying their food was really good. I ordered a noodle dish. It had lots of wide noodles, but only a few pieces of carrots and broccoli, in brown sauce. I added shrimp and chicken. I wasn't impressed. Too bland for me. I also ordered crab rolls. They were very FLAT, not rolls, and barely filled with an odd looking orange colored substance. The worst I've ever tasted! Not a hint of cream cheese. It had NO identifiable taste at all! (Crab rolls pic is below) Even though it took me 5 minutes to decide, I still ended up wasting $22 on low-quality food that did not taste good!
