Thai Noy Restaurant

I drove all the way from the VA Beach area to try Thai Noy Restaurant in Arlington, VA and it was absolutely worth it. The food is authentic Thai and Lao, full of flavor and very fresh. Every dish tasted homemade and well prepared. The service was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I’m so happy we made the trip and will definitely come back again!

Did lunch. Wife liked the chicken skewers with peanut sauce appetizer. She ordered drunken noodles with shrimp and enjoyed that. She was unsure about the orange Thai tea; was it colored naturally or a dye? Server didn’t know. I had a curry; too much sugar for me. I ordered a mai tai but she never brought it! I’d go back; would order something different. The prices are reasonable.

The detailed and handpainted decor are beautiful. Food was fresh, hot and yummy. The only challenge is parking.

Take out Vegertarian Pad Thai, without egg and asked for more veggies. It was picked up within 11 minutes of ordering directly with the staff by phone. And was home with it within five minutes. Price was $16.95 plus tax. The noodles were all stuck together, we had max seven small broccoli florets, three pieces of carrots and maybe max ten green beans. There was a bit of onion, max ten bean sprouts and one tblsp. of soy curd. The sauce was too sweet for my taste. I cannot recommend it. This was certainly not the finest meal I’ve eaten at this restaurant. It was absolutely an off night for the chef. The cost- value ratio was unbalanced. Thumbs down.

The fresh spring rolls with shrimp from here are great!!! The cilantro is a wonderful flavor addition. A couple of weeks ago, I ate chicken fresh spring rolls with chicken from a *different* Thai place and they were nothing compared to these (only had lettuce, chicken and carrots). The only thing I would add to the spring rolls with shrimp is more shrimp!!! The curry puffs are good but fried a little too long for my liking. My husband's spicy chicken fried rice with shrimp was great but again, need more shrimp (there were only 3, so you may want to ask for extra if you order this add-on). His food container was filled to the top like it should be (and is what we're used to receiving), but mine wasn't, so I was a little disappointed about that. Last but not least, my garlic chicken was g
