The Bowl Ramen & Izakaya

We went to The Ball in Ocean Beach on December 31 around 10 p.m. They were open and we were able to get bar seating, which was a nice surprise on New Year’s Eve. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the service was very good throughout the visit. The food was decent overall, though one dish felt a bit odd—very rice-heavy and not particularly memorable. Prices are slightly high for Ocean Beach, but the atmosphere, service, and overall experience still made it a good place to stop. A nice spot if you’re in the area and want solid service in a relaxed setting.

Right on Newport ave ! Super cute spot! Great service ! The friar faithful roll was sooooo delicious! Prices were reasonable. They were busy and I still got right in and my order came out so fast.

I got the Veggie Tantanmen with kimchi and egg, Friar Faithful Roll and Matcha Tiramisu; everything was delicious! The staff is very friendly and courteous. I like how Pokémon and Sailor Moon was playing on the big screen TVs. I love the artwork on the walls and all of those golden Maneki Nekos too! All in all, this is an exceptional place for Japanese comfort food in Ocean Beach. I will definitely be back again someday! I'll be sure to check out the patio next time. 🐻🍜

I don't eat pork, so I was absolutely over the moon when I found a place that does a vegan tantanmen noodle! I added an egg and wood ear mushrooms for a very reasonable price rich, creamy, spicy broth. Nice and chewy noodles. The veggies were still crisp; wilted just enough to make them soft enough to eat without them getting soggy

Amazing staff very friendly and vibrant. Fun atmosphere with waving cats. Very open concept plenty of seating and a lovely outdoor patio
